Deborah Gorski Handley

Deborah Gorski Handley, born Deborah Lynn Gorski, 69, of Asheboro, NC, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 peacefully in her home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. The family will receive friends following the service. The service will be live streamed on the Pugh Funeral Home Facebook page. Debbie was born in Milwaukee, WI to Leon and Lois Evans Gorski on April 10, 1951. She graduated New Berlin High School and went on to earn her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Milwaukee County School of Nursing as well as her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her nursing career spanned many areas from pediatrics to home health with her proudest achievement knowing that she taught and inspired future healthcare workers at Randolph Community College and Southwestern Randolph High School. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing, knitting and cross stitch. Debbie is survived by her husband, Robert Handley. Daughters: Alana Sine and husband Brian, Laura Sayewich and husband Jason, and Leigh Anne Wall and husband Trevor. Grandchildren: McKayla, Brett, Isaac and Levi Sine; Pierson and Eleanor Sayewich; Rosie and baby Wall. Siblings: Donna Falcone, Gary Gorksi and Duane Gorski. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Jeff Gorksi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, pancan.org.
