David Maxton "Max" King, age 87, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House
Mr. King was born in Asheboro on June 18, 1933 to Theodore and Elma Williams King. Max was a 1952 graduate of Seagrove High School and a graduate of Jones Business College in High Point. He was employed as an accountant and tax preparer. He was a member of Huldah Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher, and enjoyed being involved in church activities. In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by his brother, Grayson King, and nephew, Michael King. Max enjoyed his retirement and beach trips.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Saunders King, and several nieces and nephews, including
Curtis King of Asheboro.
Mr. King's body will lie in repose on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tommy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Biscoe Cemetery.
