David James Arnold Jr. dies at age 60 at the Randolph Hospice House.
“DJ” was born at Charleston, West Virginia Medical Center, on March 31, 1962.
Shortly thereafter, his family moved to Asheboro where he received his primary and secondary education in the Asheboro City school system.
Upon graduating, “DJ” enrolled at the University of West Virginia.
During that matriculation, his academic interests switched to computer sciences, and he transferred to the University of North Carolina - Wilmington.
Upon graduating, he was recruited by Bell Labs (which became Lucent Technology).
DJ entered the University of Virginia Graduate School in Computer Science, for his Master’s Degree.
During his career, DJ created entirely original software for the communication industry and, later, worked extensively with Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
He is preceded in death by both parents - architect David Arnold and educator Barbara Arnold - both of Asheboro.
DJ is survived by one sister - Valerie Kennedy and one nephew Alex Kennedy, both of Thomasville, as well as a number of cousins and close friends, dating back to his childhood.
Cremation Services are being handled by Pugh Funeral Home. A private burial will occur at a later date.
