With heavy hearts, we share the peaceful passing of Cynthia Escalante on December 29, 2025.
Cynthia was born on August 30, 1976, to the late Ector and Beatrice Escalante of Corpus Christi, Texas. She filled our lives with boundless love, warmth, and laughter. A devoted mother, her strength, humor, and humility touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Her greatest joy was her daughters, Jaqueline and Sarela, and her granddaughter, Kataleya. She shared a loving life with her partner, Marcelo, and embraced his children, Alejandro and Jeraldi, as her own. She loved them unconditionally, and through quiet sacrifices, support, and a humor that brightened any room, she showed what it means to be deeply cared for.
Cynthia is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline and Sarela; granddaughter, Kataleya; partner, Marcelo; stepchildren, Alejandro and Jeraldi; sister, Monica; brothers, Hector and Brian; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins each carrying a part of her light forward.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 1:30-3:15 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 3:30 pm at the Glenn “Mac” Pugh Chapel.
Though she is no longer with us, Cynthia’s love, laughter, and strength will live on in those who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
We are grateful for the many expressions of support and condolences from family and friends during this difficult time.
