Crystal Ann Haywood Rushing, age 48, of Asheboro, formerly of Troy, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Atrium Health Carolina’s Medical Center, Charlotte, NC, surrounded by her loving family.

Crystal was born in Montgomery County, NC, on December 20, 1977, to the late James Floyd Haywood and Margaret Ann Lemons. She was a 1996 graduate of West Montgomery High School and a 1998 graduate of Montgomery Community College with a Nursing Degree. She continued working as a Nurse for 28 years.

Crystal was an excellent nurse and took her vocation very serious. She loved taking care of others, making sure they were always looked after. Crystal had a love for anything and anyone, but especially she loved her children.

Crystal is survived by her husband of 22 years, Bobby Rushing; son: Chris Rushing and daughter Baleigh Rushing; mother: Margaret Lemons; sisters: Angela Latham (Darrell) of Troy, and Sonya Parsons (Ed) of Troy; nephews: Darrell Latham (Riley) of Troy, Jacob Latham (Mackenzie) of Albemarle, Austin Cesaro (Melinda) of W. Va., Ryder Parsons of Troy; niece: Tiffany Williams (Adam) of Seagrove; six great nieces and one great nephew; and her furbaby Missy. She was preceded in death by her father James Haywood.
