Craig Eugene Kerns

Craig Eugene Kerns, age 65 of Asheboro, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Craig was born on April 24, 1960 in Randolph County to Gene and Marion Fox Kerns. Craig was one of three children and graduated from Randleman High School. He worked most of his career as a truck driver and also enjoyed operating heavy equipment. Craig was formerly employed with Billy Cruise Trucking, Thompson Arthur (APAC)-a paving and construction company with 9 asphalt plants, and Mapco. When Craig wasn’t working, he loved to watch Drag Racing and NASCAR. Craig is preceded in death by his father, Gene Kerns.

Craig is survived by his mother, Marion “Bobbi” Kerns of Asheboro; brothers, Quin Kerns (Karen) of Ocean Isle, Cary Kerns (Brandi) of Oak Island; nephew, James Kerns (Emilee); and his niece, Isabella Kerns.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 27, 2026 from 1:00-1:50 pm at Union Grove Christian Church, 3985 Old NC Highway 13 in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm on Monday at the church with Rev. Scott Kidd officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
