Cletus Oneil Lilly

Cletus Oneil Lilly, 95, of Randleman passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Hospice of Randolph. He was born November 11, 1930 in Randleman, NC to Marshall Hubren Lilly and Florence Allred Lilly.

Cletus was a graduate of Randleman High School, earned his GED and degree at Rockingham Community College, then went to serve in US Air Force during the Korean War. He was married to the love of his life, Nella, for over 74 years. Cletus was an adventurous soul who loved to ride motorcycles and race sailboats - well into his 80’s. With his love of flying, he got his pilot’s license and took to the skies. He finally traded in his wings and wheels and started painting and drawing; he even opened his own custom framing shop from his home. Cletus will be remembered as a man of many talents and will be missed by all who knew him.

Cletus is survived by his loving wife, Nella Lilly, of the home; children, Rebecca Throckmorton (Barry) of Virginia, Michael Lilly (Annette) of Mayodan, Rex Lilly (Dennette) of Seagrove, David Lilly (Tammie) of Summerfield; grandchildren, Brian Cole Lilly of Seagrove, Thomas Lilly of Seagrove; great-grandchildren, Leigh Kipe of Asheboro, Lily Kipe of Randleman. He is survived additionally by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
