Bryan Alexis Arellano Ponce, age 19, of Asheboro, North Carolina, passed away on October 12, 2026.
Bryan was born on July 7, 2007, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to Amadeo Ponce Zagada and Brenda Arellano Romero.
A vibrant and ambitious young man, Bryan possessed a radiant smile and boundless energy that could instantly light up any room. He carried a rare, genuine joy within him, which he freely shared with everyone he encountered, frequently reminding those around him to simply "be happy, be happy." To know Bryan was to be his friend; he never met a stranger, and he fiercely supported his friends in all their endeavors. Though he possessed a strong, driven spirit, he remained a little kid at heart, always full of life, singing in the shower, and playfully enjoying the thrill of a friendly wager or games of chance.
Deeply devoted to his roots, Bryan treasured the time he spent with his mom and dad. He also shared an unbreakable bond with his little sister, Sofia, who was truly his best friend. His ultimate goal in life was to achieve great success so he could provide for and take care of his family. This deep-seated ambition fueled his incredible work ethic. A diligent worker who never shied away from the difficult path, Bryan proudly built his own reselling business. This entrepreneurial venture perfectly aligned with his sharp sense of style, as he loved looking his best and famously preferred never to wear the same outfit twice.
In his free time, Bryan had a broad appreciation for all genres of music and loved the energy of attending live concerts. He always looked forward to traveling, especially taking trips to Mexico. Those who knew him well will also fondly remember his lifelong dedication to pizza. Beneath his stylish exterior was an incredibly tender heart, especially when it came to animals. No matter where he was, if Bryan spotted a stray cat, he would scoop it up and make it his personal mission to find it a safe and loving home.
He is survived by his parents, Amadeo Ponce Zagada and Brenda Arellano Romero; his beloved sister, Sofia Hernandez; his aunts, uncles and cousins; and many other loving family members and friends who will forever carry his joyful spirit with them.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm
