Birte Madsen Nance

Birte Madsen Nance, age 89, of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Nance was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on February 21, 1932 to Emelius Thomsen Madsen and Hilda Magrethe Swensen Madsen. Birte was the owner/operator of a janitorial service formerly providing cleaning services for The Courier-Tribune, Fetner & Associates, and Wachovia Bank. In addition to her parents, Birte was preceded in death by her daughters, Judy M. Nance and Ruby N. Auman. Birte enjoyed quilting, sewing, and knitting. She is survived by her son, Robert "Bob" Nance and wife Kaye of Level Cross; grandson, Dane Nance of Myrtle Beach, SC; stepsons, Tod Yates of Canada, Brad Yates and Mark Yates both of Asheboro; and sister, Hanne Hansen of Denmark. Birte's body will lie in repose on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 11:00 am-1:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. A graveside service will follow on Friday at 3:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North in Asheboro with Mike Thompson officiating.
