Billy "Darrell" McCorquodale, age 74, of Ramseur died Sunday, April 11, 2021 at W.G. Hefner Medical Center, Salisbury.
Mr. McCorquodale was born July 13, 1946 the son of Malcolm Gilmer McCorquodale, Sr. and Helena Fern Richardson McCorquodale. Mr. McCorquodale was a native of Randolph County and was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during Vietnam War. Darrell was a graduate of Franklinville High School and attended Randolph Community College. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist Church where he was active and served in many activities there. Darrell was retired from Goodyear Wire Plant where he was an Electronics Technician. He was a very social person and enjoyed traveling. In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by his brothers, "Corky" and Joe McCorquodale.
He is survived by his son: Tyler McCorquodale and wife Dona of Kernersville; and his pride and joy were his grandchildren, Lawson and Leah McCorquodale both of Kernersville; brother: Mike McCorquodale and wife Joyce of Coleridge.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 1:00 - 1:45 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Neil C. Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with the Randolph County Honor Guard performing the military rites.
