Bettye Jo Pugh Allred, 91, went to be with the Lord December 23, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House of Asheboro.
Bettye was born May 13, 1930 in Randolph county to parents Edison and Vallie Evans Pugh. She graduated from Randleman High School in 1949. She was Randleman City Clerk from 1959-1965. She retired from First National Bank & Trust.
She was a longtime member of New Salem United Methodist Church. She was a member and teacher of the Suzanne Wesley Sunday School class, United Methodist Women and a choir member for 50 years. She also held positions in the High Point District for United Methodist Women.
Bettye Jo is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gene Pugh and sister Bobbie Scholl.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years Hubert Allred. Daughters, Debbie (Harry) Christenberry and Terry (Stan) Frye, both of Climax. Granddaughters Jerri (Michael) Coleman of Chapin, SC and Erin (Adam)
Bartley of Winston-Salem, NC. She also has six great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at New Salem United Methodist Church Monday, December 27, 2021, at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Salem United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 303, Randleman, NC 27317 or Hospice of Randolph 446 Vison Dr., Asheboro, NC 27203.
