Betty Jo Yow Brown Hodge

Betty Jo Yow Brown Hodge, age 90, of Siler City passed away on August 31, 2023 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.

Mrs. Hodge was born in Seagrove on June 1, 1933 to Hugh Burley Yow and Cora Bell McNeill Yow and attended Seagrove High School. She retired from Black & Decker after 39 years of service and following retirement was a caregiver at Carolina House. Betty was a member of Trinity Holiness Church for over 40 years. She loved music and played the piano and accordion. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, John R. Brown and Lacy Hodge, daughters, Judy C. Brown and Sharon F. Ashleman, grandson, Nathan Ashleman, and great grandchildren, Enoch Kaufman and Aniston Williams.

She is survived by her son, David Brown; daughter, Jenatte Kaufman (Paul D. Kaufman); grandchildren, Angela Williams (Mike), Jonathan Brown (LeeAnn), Jennifer Jones, Matthew Kaufman (Rebekah), Michael Kaufman (Stephanie), Caroline Kaufman, Dannie Ashleman, Samuel Ashleman, Allison Ashleman, Lori Maynard, and Annie Hodge; 12 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 3, 2023 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Trinity Holiness Church, 5017 Plainfield Road in Sophia. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 3:00 pm with Rev. Tim Cole officiating. Interment will be held at Randolph Memorial Park.
