Arthur Michael Honer

Arthur Michael Honer, age 81, of Asheboro passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Randolph Health, Asheboro. Mr. Honer was born December 14, 1939 the son of Martin Gustave and Edith Rohrer Honer. Mike was a graduate of Brown University. He was an engineer and worked in manufacturing and quality control. Mike had his private pilot license and had over 2200 hours in the air. He owned and worked on his own airplane and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Mike also enjoyed basic metal working, photography, motor camping, and was involved in amateur radio for 65 years. Mike is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne Stifel Honer; daughter, Karen Honer Garbee and husband BDale of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Arthur Michael Honer, Jr. and wife Kimberly of Hendersonville; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and sisters, Regina Fisher and husband Steve of WI and Patricia "Patty" Johnson of TN. A Celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mike’s honor to Salem Fellowship, c/o Kent Elliott, 9107 High Pine Church Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205 or to the organization of the donor’s choice.
