Archie Marvin Thompson

Archie Marvin Thompson, age 68, of Troy, NC, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital.

Archie was born in Montgomery County on January 12, 1957, to the late Archie Daniel Thompson and Mary Elizabeth Freeman Lynthacum. Archie served his country in the United States Army. He worked for many years in the maintenance department of Uwharrie Lumber in Troy.

Archie is survived by his children: Kasey Dennis of Texas, Vivian Hanley (Phil) of Aberdeen NC, and Archie Thompson Jr.; his mother: Mary Elizabeth Lynthacum (Bill) of Troy; siblings: Marie Tucker (Randy) of Millingport, NC, Danny Thompson (Cathy) of Troy, Lil Bill Lynthacum(Lisa) of Troy, Richard Lynthacum (Jane) of Troy, and Betty Joe Maness (Ricky) of Troy; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cherri Lynn Thompson and his brother Tommy Eugene Thompson. 

There will be a Graveside service on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Love Joy Church Cemetery, 1137 Substation Road, Troy, NC at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Richard Lynthacum officiating.
