Anna Marie Mitchell Taylor

Anna Marie Mitchell Taylor, 77, of Sophia passed away Friday, May 8, 2026 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born March 14, 1949 in Killeen, TX to Ivy Elbert Mitchell and Erble Marie Cox Mitchell.

Anna was loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company and spent her time with family and friends. Anna was married for 42 years to the love of her life, Donald Taylor. She loved going to the casinos and gambling. Anna enjoyed gardening and watching the hummingbirds visit her. She leaves behind so many who love and miss her, especially her canine companion, Oreo.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Shelly Ann of Pleasant Garden; son, Danny Mitchell (Lisa) of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Hayley Hoover (William) of Greensboro, Taylor Conner (Sydney) of Liberty; three great-grandchildren; one brother, and three sisters. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Taylor.
